The Old Military Road in Argyll has reopened this morning following a safety review. The route was shut on Sunday following a landslip at the Rest and Be Thankful caused debris to be scattered on the road. Work to reinstate traffic to the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown has been ongoing since the weekend. Now, the vital route has reopened under convoy, meaning motorists will no longer have to take a 60-mile diversion. The Rest and Be Thankful has been plagued by landslips over the last year, with any severe weather forcing the road to be shut. It is still currently closed at the moment. Bear Scotland is in charge of the road and undertake regular safety inspections on it.
