The route between Wick and Inverness has been declared unpassable by Scotrail due to heavy rain flooding the line at Ardgay. Disruption is expected until further notice. All services between the two stations have been suspended until the water level drops to a more suitable level. Engineers are currently on-site at Ardgay trying to clear the flooding to get the trains moving again. The heavy rainfall in the north has also caused the A83 at Rest and be Thankful to be closed, leading to detours for motorists of 60 miles. The Far North Line is currently closed at Ardgay due to flooding. We believe this has been caused by a nearby burn bursting its banks. Anyone with tickets and want to travel between Wick and Inverness can use Stagecoach North buses. In addition, the 10.41 am Inverness to Wick service is being replaced by a coach, along with the 4pm Wick to Inverness service.
