A man died after being struck by a train near Fort William yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the railway near the Ben Nevis Distillery, near Inverlochy, just before 8am, but the man could not be saved.
It is understood that none of the passengers or crew on board the 6.03am Mallaig to Glasgow Queen Street service was injured.
British Transport Police (BTP) are now investigating the death, which happened close to a private level crossing near the distillery.

“Colleagues from Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service also attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is currently not being treated as suspicious.
“Officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family.
“A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
Rail services on the line between Glasgow and Mallaig were affected throughout the day, with buses being laid on for passengers due to travel on the 10.21am Crianlarich to Mallaig service, which was cancelled.
Later services started from and terminated at Fort William, with replacement buses provided for travel onto Mallaig.
