Police are appealing for information after a blind man travelling to Oban by train with his elderly mother and guide dog had his wallet stolen.
Partially-sighted Jon Prasher 51, from Wakefield in Yorkshire was going on holiday to Argyll with his 82-year-old mother Brenda.
They were on the 12.21am Glasgow Queen Street to Oban service on Tuesday October 21.
During the initial journey between Dalmuir and Dumbarton Central they were approached by a young couple who engaged them in conversation.
The man and woman got off the train at Dumbarton Central when the victim discovered his wallet containing a bus pass, train tickets and other personal items including his iPhone were missing.
The man and woman believed to be responsible for the theft are both described as being aged 18-20 years. He was of slim build, about 5ft8ins in height and was wearing a grey top and baseball cap. The woman was wearing red boots.
Detective Constable Andrew Egan, the British Transport Police officer in charge of the inquiry, is appealing for information. He said: “This was a despicable theft and anyone with information which could help identify the man and woman is urged to contact BTP.”
