Train passengers in the north and north-east faced delays today due to flooding on the track.
Services between Aberdeen and Inverness were disrupted due to a blocked culvert near Keith.
The problem was reported at about 10am, and Network Rail’s engineers were on site 45 minutes later to clear the blockage and drain the water from the track.
The 8.28am Edinburgh to Inverurie service was terminated at Dyce, with taxis arranged for passengers heading further north.
The 9am Inverness to Aberdeen train was also delayed.
Services are now returning to normal.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: “We had a blocked culvert near Keith. It’s been attended to, the blockage has been cleared and the water drained and we’re now in the process of getting back to normal.”
A spokeswoman for First ScotRail added: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the flooding.”
