A busy Aberdeen road was closed and a bus was evacuated this afternoon after a suspicious piece of luggage was discovered.
Police were called to the scene and closed off Great Southern Road while they investigated the suitcase.
The road was closed for an our before Police confirmed the luggage was indeed safe and posed no security risk.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach said, “The safety of our customers and staff is our absolute priority.
“At about 1.30pm today a driver noticed an abandoned bag on board his bus at Union Street.
“In line with company policy, as a precaution, he asked passengers to leave the bus and called the police who attended the scene and closed the road whilst investigations continued. The road had reopened by 2.30pm.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused to our customers.”
