A spokesman for the force said conditions were particularly bad in the Formartine area. “All roads across the region may be effected by black ice. Drivers are asked to take extra care,” he said. Police have already assisted a motorist whose car skidded off the road one mile south of Mintlaw. The car landed in a field at the side of the A952 Mintlaw to Toll of Birness road near the Old Deer junction around 10.30pm The driver was not injured, but paramedics were called out as a precaution.
