Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended the crash, which happened on the A944 Aberdeen to Alford road near Dunecht at around 2.30pm. A grey BMW X5, a white Volkswagen panel van and a blue Ford transit van were involved. An ambulance spokeswoman said two men, one aged 30 and another aged 34, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident. She described both men as “walking wounded” with no serious injuries. A police spokesman said: “We got the call in around 2.30pm to a two car collision on the A944. “The road was blocked and diversions in place.” Two fire and rescue teams were sent to the scene from Kintore and North Anderson Drive. A fire and rescue service spokeswoman said: “There was no persons trapped, we just made the vehicles safe. We were called at 2.44pm.” The road was initially blocked whilst emergency services attended the scene. One lane was later opened, but there was still congestion on the route during rush hour. The road was cleared at around 6pm.
