Roads re-open as Met Office warnings lift following snowfall

The Met Office has lifted its three-day warning for snow and ice across the north and north-east.

The region is beginning to now get back to normality, after the winter weather forced the closure of roads across the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire.

There were also winds of around 60mph in the country, along with rain and sleet.

Aberdeen and other parts of the north-east missed out on much of the foul weather.

Now only one road, the A939 Tomintoul to Ballater between Cock Bridge and the Lecht Ski Centre, remains shut.

However, the road travelling from Tomintoul is now open.

The B974 Banchory to Fettercairn road reopened yesterday, along with the A93 Braemar to Blairgowrie road, which was closed at the Glenshee snowgates.
