British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after five men shouted and sang songs “of a religiously offensive nature.”
The incident happened Saturday, August 29, the 4:37pm Glasgow to Oban train.
The men are all described as being in their late-30s.
One had shaved head, another was wearing a white t-shirt and one had a moustache.
Constable Stephanie Crawford, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, said:
“It is reported that the men had been drinking throughout the journey and as the train neared Oban they were shouting and singing the offensive songs.
“This sort of behaviour is not acceptable and other passengers should not be forced to tolerate it during a train journey.
“I am appealing for anyone who was on the train and can provide information which can help identify the men responsible to contact BTP as a matter of urgency.”
British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 – quoting reference B3 of 31/08/2015.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
