Man rushed to hospital after being struck by car on busy Aberdeen street

A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on a busy Aberdeen street.
The black Audi A6 hit the man on the southbound lane of North Esplanade West in the city centre at around 6pm.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene and the lane remains closed.
A spokesman for the force said his injuries could “potentially be serious”.
He added: “It was one male pedestrian versus a car, he has been taken away up to hospital to get his injuries assessed. It could potentially be serious but we are not sure yet.
“We got the first initial report at 6.05pm. We have got one lane closed southbound, the northbound one is still open.”
