Moray MSP Richard Lochhead has demanded talks with rail bosses over early morning cancellations which have left local commuters frustrated.
He has been contacted by a number of Elgin passengers who rely on the 7.24am ScotRail service to Inverness to get to work.
They have been left angry by a string of cancellations.
Scottish Government minister Mr Lochhead now wants a meeting with Abellio ScotRail managing director Phil Verster to discuss the situation.
The MSP said: “Cancellations of the 7.24am service on numerous occasions have caused real disruption to those who rely on the service for their daily commute.
“When I meet Phil Verster, I will be pressing him to take steps to ensure that the situation improves and that the 7.24am service returns to being a reliable one for passengers travelling west from Elgin and Forres.”
A ScotRail spokeswoman said last night: “We welcome the opportunity to meet with Mr Lochhead and discuss his concerns.”
