A man has been killed after crashing on a Highland road last night.
Police Scotland received a report of a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the A836 at Forss, near Thurso, around one mile east of the Bridge of Forss last night at around 5:46pm.
Emergency services attended at the scene of the collision, which involved a car and a 4×4, but sadly a 26 year-old man, who was the passenger within the car, died as a result of his injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries.
The road was closed until 4:30am hours, upon the completion of a collision investigation by the Divisional Road Policing Unit.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, as is procedure in circumstances of this nature.
