Several people have been cut free from their vehicles by firefighters following the collision on the B9006 Croy to Inverness road, at about 6.55pm. UPDATE: One dead and five injured in crash The accident is said to have taken place near to Culloden Moor. Police, fire and rescue and ambulance services were called to the scene. Two fire appliances from Inverness and a heavy rescue unit were called to the scene. A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “It was serious. We were involved in cutting people out.” Police have closed the road as they carried out inquiries at the scene. The force said the route would remain closed for “a significant period of time”.
