Two vehicles have crashed down an embankment following a collision on a major north-east route this afternoon.
The incident happened shortly before 12.45pm on the southbound carriageway of the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road near Portlethen.
One lane is closed while emergency services work at the scene. It is understood there are no serious or life-threatening injuries.
A police spokesman said: “At 12.45 we were made aware by a member of the public of a two-vehicle traffic collision at the A90 near Portlethen at the south entrance.
“Two vehicles are down an embankment. Police and ambulance are the scene. There is nobody with serious or life-threatening injuries as far as we know at the moment.”
He added: “We’ve closed one lane southbound and that’s only to allow the emergency service vehicles to park.”
