Delays are expected as dualling investigation work gets underway on a busy 13 mile stretch of the A9.
Much of the work on the Killiecrankie to Glen Garry section will take place off the route of the existing road.
But Transport Scotland said that traffic management will be in place at several locations, including short single file sections controlled by temporary traffic lights.
The work is due to begin on Monday, August 1 and is expected to last 14 weeks.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said: “This ground investigation is needed to get vital information on the existing ground conditions in the vicinity of the A9 carriageway between Killiecrankie and Glen Garry as we progress our plans to dual this section of the route.
“This is the latest in a series of ground investigations with the work further north on the Tomatin to Moy section due to finish at the end of August.
“We apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause and would thank road users and local communities in advance for their patience over the next few months. The contractor will closely monitor the operation of the traffic management measures to ensure that delays are kept to a minimum.
“When planning their journeys, we’d encourage drivers to visit the Traffic Scotland website – www.trafficscotland.org – for the latest travel updates.”
