Man shocks motorists when he wandered onto a dual carriageway only wearing underpants and socks

This strange scene was captured on the A500 dual carriage way which runs through Stoke, Staffordshire.

The semi-naked man is seen wobbling on a wall next to a bridge while concerned cops try to persuade him to come down.

Police were called to the scene about 10.10am after receiving several calls members of the public who were shocked to see the agitated man wandering on the carriageway.

The man was later then taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital  for treatment and is now safe and well.
