VIDEO: Two swans brought London traffic to a standstill when they casually wandered across the road

The daring birds stepped out into the carriageway in front of a lorry and a stream of cars, with one flapping its wings as it launched into the lane to follow its friend.

Oblivious to the danger from speeding vehicles, the majestic white swans slowly stroll across the road onto the the opposite lane and then walked in single file over the bridge.

As the pair scurry over Kingston Bridge in south west London, a white van and a single decker bus tentatively pass them and numerous commuters toot their horns.

Frightened by the noise of the traffic, the swans repeatedly stop at the side of the bridge and wag their tales and crane their necks to look around as they make their way over the River Thames.
