Staff and students were evacuated from Salford University in Greater Manchester earlier today amid reports of a “suspicious package”.
The university tweeted: “Buildings being evacuated on Peel Park campus; New Adelphi, Lady Hale and Clifford Whitworth library. Please follow instructions from staff.
“Police are in attendance and we will keep our students informed when we have more information.”
They later confirmed police said they can now reopen buildings with immediate effect and the @createatsalford Fashion Show will go ahead as planned.
The second tweet finished by saying: “Thanks to students and staff for your patience and co-operation during the evacuation.”
