A Londoner, a Canadian woman and a French national were among those who were killed in Saturday night’s attack in the capital.
Seven people died and 48 others were injured when three knifemen ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed people in Borough Market.
These are the victims who have been confirmed as dead:
James McMullan
James McMullan, 32, from Hackney, was last seen outside the Barrowboy And Banker pub and his sister said police have told her his bank card was found on a body at the scene of the attack.
Melissa McMullan told Sky News “While our pain will never diminish, it is important for us all to carry on with our lives in direct opposition to those who wish to destroy us and remember that hatred is the refuge of small-minded individuals and will only breed more.
“Words will never be able to match his essence, there will only ever be one James.
“Nowhere else will you find such humour and a unique personality, someone who puts friends and family above all others.
“He was an inspiration.”
She added police told her they were unable to formally identify him until the coroner’s releases a report on Tuesday.
Christine Archibald
Miss Archibald, 30, was the first to be named.
She died in her fiance’s arms after being struck by the speeding van on London Bridge.
Her family said she would have had “no understanding of the callous cruelty that caused her death”.
Kirsty Boden
Brave Australian nurse Kirsty Boden was killed by terrorists as she ran towards danger in an effort to help people, her family have said.
The 28-year-old is the third person to named among the dead after three attackers ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in Borough Market.
Relatives said she was “loved and adored by her family, friends and boyfriend”, while colleagues at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital in central London described her as “one in a million”.
“She was the most outgoing, kind and generous person, who loved to help people. Helping people was what she loved to do in her job as a nurse and in her daily life,” her family, who have asked for privacy, said in a statement.
“As she ran towards danger, in an effort to help people on the bridge, Kirsty sadly lost her life.
“We are so proud of Kirsty’s brave actions which demonstrate how selfless, caring and heroic she was, not only on that night, but throughout all of her life. Kirsty – we love you and we will miss you dearly.”
Dame Eileen Sills, the chief nurse at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, said staff were being offered support after losing “one of our own”.
“Kirsty was an outstanding nurse and a hugely valued member of the staff team in Theatres Recovery, described by her colleagues as ’one in a million’ who always went the extra mile for the patients in her care,” she said.
“Our thoughts at this time are with her family, her loved ones and our staff who have lost a dear friend and colleague.”
Alexandre Pigeard
Alexandre Pigeard, 27, has been named by French media as one of those killed.
Brittany news outlet Le Telegramme reported an account from Boro Bistro manager Vincent Le Berre, who told how his colleague, Mr Pigeard, was attacked by a terrorist in the bar near Borough Market on Saturday night.
“I managed to escape him, but my friend Alexandre did not have that chance. He was hit in the neck with a knife,” he said.
According to French media, Mr Pigeard was from Caen, in Normandy, but had been living in London for more than two years.
Sebastien Belanger
French chef Sebastien Belanger, 36, was identified by family members as a victim of the attack after several days of frantic searches, according to reports.
He was drinking at the Boro Bistro near Borough Market when the area came under attack.
Originally from Angers, western France, Mr Belanger had lived in London for several years and reportedly worked at the Coq d’Argent restaurant in the City.
The BBC said the chef’s aunt had confirmed his body was identified by his mother and brother on Wednesday.
His friend Damien Lecomte, 34, told the Press Association on Monday: “He is the very definition of a friend – always here to help you, to listen to you, whatever he can do to help you, he is going to be there.”
Sara Zelenak
Australian Sara Zelenak died after becoming separated from her friend.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the au pair, who lived and worked in London, was among the dead.
Her family said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened at the tragic loss of our beautiful daughter and sister of Harrison and Scott.”
Sharing a video of his daughter online, her father Mark Wallace wrote: “I really miss that funny little laugh.”
Friend Elle Bishop said on Facebook: “I find solace in the fact that the hate that saw you taken from us, you have never felt inside, making you a remarkable young woman.”
Ignacio Echeverria
Spanish banker Ignacio Echeverria, 39, was killed after trying to defend a woman with his skateboard in the Borough Market area.
The Spanish foreign ministry confirmed the death on Wednesday, saying: “The exemplary attitude of Ignacio Echeverria during the attacks is, for everybody, a model of solidarity.”
His father, Joaquin Echeverria, said British authorities had previously not shared any information with them, but his son’s employer, HSBC, had provided the services of a private detective to help with their search.
On Wednesday, journalist and relative Isabel Duran wrote on Twitter: “Ignacio Echeverria attacked the terrorists to try to save a woman. He is in heaven with his inseparable skateboard.”
Almost 50 injured in attack
Dozens of others were injured, including four police officers:A British Transport Police (BTP) officer was stabbed in the head, face and leg after taking on the knifemen armed only with his baton.
The policeman, who was on duty, was one of the first at the scene after he responded to calls for help from the public and suffered serious injuries, which the force said are not thought to be life-threatening.
An off-duty Metropolitan Police officer was in hospital with serious injuries after he confronted the attackers with no weapon.
Commissioner Cressida Dick said she was “enormously proud” of the unarmed officer who stepped in to help uniformed colleagues and members of the public.
The officer, who was based in Southwark, remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Two other Met officers, who were both on duty, received less serious injuries during the rampage.
Police said a plainclothes officer received stitches to a head injury, while a uniformed officer suffered an injury to his arm.
New Zealander Oliver Dowling is reported to have been left in a coma after being stabbed in the face, neck and stomach.
The 32-year-old, from Christchurch, was said to have had four hours of surgery for his injuries and was in an induced coma.
It was reported his girlfriend, Marie Bondeville, was also injured.
Sunday Express business editor Geoff Ho was left in intensive care after being stabbed in the throat when he tried to help a wounded bouncer.
Mr Ho was filmed being led away from the scene by a policeman, clutching his neck and with his shirt off.
He has tweeted: “Thank you every one for the best wishes. I got out of surgery yesterday and am on the mend.”
Two Australians were stabbed in the neck while prime minister Malcolm Turnbull said the government had “very real concerns” about another two citizens who may have been caught up in the attacks.
Candice Hedge is recovering in St Thomas’ Hospital, while Andrew Morrison received stitches for a wound and was on his way home to Australia.
Seven other French nationals were taken to hospital, four of whom were in a critical condition, Mr Le Drian said. Another French national is missing, he added.
Daniel O’Neill, 23, was left with a 7in wound from his stomach to his back and was saved by a friend who applied a tourniquet and took him downstairs in a pub.
His mother, Elizabeth O’Neill, said her son was approached by one of the attackers who said, “this is for my family, this is for Islam”, before sticking a knife in him.
