PC Lowe was dragged after holding on to the passenger door while the driver sped on at 30mph
West Midlands Police have released CCTV footage of the horrific moment an officer was trailed along a road by a speeding getaway van.
The 29-second clip shows PC Gareth Lowe, 34, hanging onto the vehicle before he was tossed to the middle of a road in Balsall Heath, Birmingham.
The incident occurred on May 13 2014 and Police are appealing for witnesses, while also seeking information of a connected tile company robbery nearby.
The 34-year-old miraculously came away with minor injuries and has since made a full recovery.
Detective Constable Michelle Beasley said: “PC Lowe was extremely lucky on the night in question.
“The people in the van showed a complete disregard for him and he was left lying in the street.”
She added: “We still really need members of the public who think they can help our enquiries to come forward.”
