Police are searching the steep sides of a gorge in Bristol in the hunt for a newborn baby who was taken from hospital by her mother.
Officers launched a major search for missing Charlotte Bevan and her four-day-old daughter after she walked out of Bristol Maternity Hospital wearing no coat and hospital slippers.
Late last night, police confirmed that the body of a woman was found in the Avon Gorge below the suburb of Clifton.
The family of Ms Bevan have been told that a body was found, however official identification is expected to take place today.
The infant, Zarnee Teanna, has not yet been found. She is now six days old.
Officers have been abseiling down the sides of a nearby gorge and searching the undergrowth with sticks.
Police have also been using sniffer dogs, horses and a helicopter in the search.
