A pensioner proved he can still pack a punch when he fought off two cowardly burglars armed with a knife.
Army veteran Kenneth Brown, 88, heard two teenagers banging on his window while enjoying the cricket on a Sunday afternoon.
When he opened his door they forced their way in, and one of the would-be assailants rolled up his sleeve to reveal a knife and demanded money.
Unfazed, Mr Brown – who is 5ft 4ins tall and weights just nine stone – used his unarmed combat skills from his armed forces days and thumped the armed thug in the chest.
The pair fleed the scene empty-handed and were later arrested.
Mr Brown later told police he could have done “a lot more damage”
Speaking after the event, he said: “I didn’t think about the danger’.
