Roman Abramovich’s tour of some of Scotland’s most picturesque islands has continued with a trip to Islay.
Chelsea’s billionaire owner had visited Bute and Arran, as we showed you yesterday, and he has now added Islay and the island’s famous Laphroig distillery to his holiday list.
Abramovich joined other tourists on the £6 tour of the distillery and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the hour long tour, the taster of Laphroaig and his commemorative Laphroaig glass.
Distillery manager John Cambpell was delighted to meet his unexpected guest and took to Twitter to tell his followers that Abramovich was “such a nice man” and, most importantly “likes a good whisky too”.

Campbell also snapped a picture of the billionaire’s stunning 536ft yacht, the Eclipse, and shared it with his followers.

The Russian oil and metals tycoon jumped off his yacht to cycle around Bute at the end of last week and was spotted on a casual stroll around Arran with his family dog, a corgi, while his stunning 536ft yacht, the Eclipse was moored off Lochranza.
The remaining islands on the west coast now must wait to see where the next stop will be for the £1.5bn yacht and its whisky loving owner.
