A major investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a canal.
The man was reportedly tied to a trolley and dumped in the water.
The body was discovered in London’s Regent’s Canal, by the entrance to the 880-metre Islington Tunnel, shortly after 9am on Thursday morning.
Two white investigation tents have been set up on the towpath beside the canal, while several hundred metres of the canal has been closed off as detectives search the area for clues, while the Met’s Marine Policing Unit’s divers are also helping the investigation.
The Evening Standard are reporting that neighbours had been told by police that the body was discovered inside a trolley.
A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on the body at a north London Hospital.
The Met Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
