VIDEO: Asylum-seeker son of Colonel Gaddafi’s aid jailed for string of armed robberies

Ahmid Dorda, a 24-year-old asylum seeker was sentenced for a total of 13 attacks on small supermarkets across London over a just four months.
Dorda, the son of death-row criminal Abuzeid Dorda, would take small items to the till, before putting on a balaclava, whipping out a gun and demanding cash and sometimes cigarettes.
On 11 May, a nervous Dorda was stopped by police on Great Portland Street, following a spate of burglaries in the area.
The 24-year-old has now been sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment – with two and a half years for each attached possession of an imitation firearm offence to run concurrently.
He was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on October 21 and pleaded guilty in September in the same court to nine counts of armed robbery and three attempted robberies.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Andy McGuire, of the Met’s Flying Squad , said: “We are pleased that we have managed to capture Dorda and bring him to justice.”
