Guests at the wedding of a Derby teacher were surprised when she performed a dance routine with some of her pupils at the evening reception.
St Benedict Catholic Academy dance teacher Katie Layden, who has now become Mrs Russell, was married at St John the Baptist church in Mayfield on Saturday.
She and husband, Karl, held their reception at Weston Hall in Staffordshire and Katie had organised seven year 11, 12 and 13 pupils to make their surprise appearance.
Katie, who is from Mayfield, said: “The pupils had cooked this up among themselves but could not do it without involving me.
The 1.42-min video shows the new bride dancing with her seven pupils to Easy Love by Sigala before sharing a group hug and letting the other guests join in.
They also danced to Omen by Disclosure, Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes by Tinie Tempah, and You Make Me by Avicii.
The children came up with the idea themselves, but needed Katie’s help and the permission of their head teacher at St Benedict Catholic Academy in Derby, Kevin Gritton.
