Thousands of film fans have queued up to get the first glimpse at the latest installment in the Star Wars series.

Star Wars: Force Awakens is the franchise’s first in a decade, and had its premiere in London earlier tonight.

Cinemas across the country, including Aberdeen’s Cineworld Union Square, gave eager fans a chance to see the film at midnight tonight.

And some cinema-goers took to social media to share their excitement..
