Two of the busiest streets in London have re-opened following a major evacuation this afternoon.
The capital’s Oxford Street and Regent Street were closed off after a suspicious vehicle was noticed in the area.
Police officers were called to reports of the suspicious vehicle at about 1pm.
Hundreds of shoppers left the streets with police officers closing down the area.
Bomb squad officers were also on the scene and appeared to be focusing on a taxi parked in the middle of the street.
One social media user tweeted a picture of the taxi claimed the windows had be “shot out” by police.
Regent Street is now re-open following the earlier incident. Thank you for your co-operation.
