New images have been revealed, showing the work of the finalists in this year’s Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition.
The eclectic variety of snaps across eight different categories will certainly prove an inspiration to those in love with refulgent pictures.
Irishman, George Karbus, was certainly thinking outside the box when he took his camera under water to capture a free diver swimming alongside moon jellyfish in Irish waters.
His efforts were rewarded as he came out on top of the under exposed category.
William Eades was savvy when he saw a thunderstorm approaching Port Macquarie.
The New South Wales man grabbed his camera and captured the storm as it approached, subsequently emerging as the winner in the water’s edge category.
Elsewhere Grey Whitton travelled from Solihull to the north of Wales to get his winning snap in the Live the Adventure category by capturing Tryfan North Ridge in Snowdonia at nightfall.
Henrik Spranz from Vienna also came up trumps in the small world category for his photograph of a butterfly at sunrise.
The other winners were Andrew Francolini for spirit of travel, Anastasia Ziavra for young outdoor photographer, Ben Wayman for light on the land and Naomi Stolow for wildlife insight.
The winner will be announced at the Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show at the ExCeL London in February.
