WATCH: Careless driver and baby girl trapped on a railway crossing as train approaches

This is the terrifying moment a careless driver and her three-week-old baby girl got trapped on a railway crossing – after the barrier came down and smashed through her car window.

Shocking footage shows the 27-year-old mum narrowly avoided disaster when overhead barriers crashed down on her Vauxhall Astra.

She had been sat bumper-to-bumper in traffic on the crossing in Lincoln when the warning signal lights began to flash at 3pm on Saturday (12/3).

The overhead barriers close and smash through the driver side window as she tries to pull forward, leaving mum and baby trapped at the railway tracks.
