VIDEO: Carer caught on video stealing from frail granny escapes jail

Mary Kelly, stole £2,500 from the home of a pensioners she was looking after but was caught thanks to a hidden camera placed in a clock.

The 32-year-old was filmed stealing pension money from Patricia Tracey after her son noticed cash had gone missing from her savings.

Kelly, a mum-of-one, has been sentenced to a Community Payback Order and ordered to pay compensation to her victim after she pled guilty to stealing. But Mrs Tracey’s outraged son Kevin, 54, said of the lenient sentence: “It’s not severe enough. She should have gone to jail.
