A car was left crumpled on the roof of another vehicle following a crash on one of Britain’s busiest motorways.
The six-vehicle collision, which included a coach carrying 27 passengers, forced two lanes to close between junctions five and six of the M6 near Birmingham on Tuesday. No-one was seriously injured.
A dramatic photo taken by police showed one of the cars piled on top of the other in front of the coach.
Minor injuries were sustained by those involved, police confirmed, and drivers were warned to avoid the area while the lanes were cleared.
A replacement coach arrived shortly afterwards to collect the stranded passengers, according to the Central Motorway Police Group.
