Pokemon GO: When will it actually be released in the UK?

Would-be Pokemon masters living in the UK have been dealt a fresh blow after learning they will need to wait even longer than expected to get their hands on mobile game Pokemon GO –  because too many of us want to play it.

The game, which uses augmented reality to let people catch Pokemon characters in real life, is already one of the most popular to ever be released. But so far, most people can’t even play it.

For now, it has only been released in the US, after initially rolling out in Australia and New Zealand. And now its popularity is stopping the game from rolling out further due to pressures being put on the game’s servers.

As such, international rollout in the UK, Europe and elsewhere is being “paused” until the company is comfortable ensuring that it will work properly for everyone.

However, it is possible to play the game in the UK by using some high-tec wizardry – although the workaround has not been endorsed by the game’s developers.

Users can log out of their Apple ID account in the App Store, go to the Language & Region option in the Settings app and change it to the US, then try and download the game and follow the options to create a new US App Store account to download it.

Although this should work, users should be aware that accessing the game in this way could make server issues even worse and only further delay the game’s full UK release.

So for many of us, for now at least, it looks like we still can’t catch ’em all.
