Police were forced to step in after a fight broke out among beach rugby players in Swansea this weekend.
Two fixtures had been taking place when officers were forced to step in and break up the mass brawl which was captured on video.
The four clubs – Ferndale, Rhigos, Porth and Wattstown – were subsequently banned from the tournament after the trouble at Swansea Bay beach.
But organiser Ashleigh Walters said the incident had been blown out of proportion.
He said: “This is rugby and it was dealt with on the pitch.
“The video does show fighting, but what you don’t see is the players walk off the pitch and shake hands and sit down next to each other on the terraces.”
No arrests were made and South Wales Police said it had received no complaints in relation to the incident.
