The respected New York Times’ swingometer started the night predicting an 80% chance of a Clinton victory. But that substantial lead has ebbed away throughout the night. Now, the New York Times is predicting the tycoon has a 59% of victory – a remarkable turnaround. If, as expected, he wins in Florida, Ohio and Virginia, those odds are only likely to increase. Despite it predicting a likely Trump victory, the New York Times is still estimating Clinton will win the popular vote. Trump, however, will get around 272 Electoral College votes on current projections – just two more than necessary for victory.
