A man from the UK has taken home £500,000 after betting that Donald Trump will become the next president of the United States.
The London punter, who has not been named, took home the huge winnings after staking £200,000 on a victory for the tycoon.
The bet comes just days after another punter gambled £37,000 on a Trump victory, prompting bookies to slash their odds.
The US election proved hugely popular for those looking to place bets and betting site Spreadex, where the winning bet was placed, said it had been their most biggest even ever.
Connor Campbell, Financial Analyst at Spreadex, said: “The US election is now our single biggest betting event ever and we are seeing some huge bets being placed, including one customer who has staked £200,000 on a Trump victory.”
