New research has revealed exactly how repetitive music is – and unsurprisingly, in the last few years, it’s got worse.
Using a technique normally used to compress folders and files – making Zip/Rar files – Colin Morris and the team at Pudding.cool analysed 15,000 tracks released over the last 50 years.
The most repetitive song was Around The World by Daft Punk.
Fatboy Slim’s Rockafellar Skank came second on the all time list.
This decade’s most repetitive track was Get Low by Dillon Francis & DJ Snake, followed by Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce.
According to the in depth analysis, the most repetitive year for music was 2014, with top 10 tracks being the most repetitive.
The statistics also reveal which artists and bands and behind the surge in repetitive tracks.
Rhianna topped the list, with other pop artists – including Beyonce, One Direction, Madonna and Justin Bieber.
The Beattles and Michael Jackson also feature in the top 10 most repetitive artists.
