Two American police officers came to the rescue to deliver a Christmas miracle as a baby was born on a US underground train.
A Philadelphia subway passenger suddenly went into labour and screamed for help – fortunately for her – Police Sergeant Daniel Caban and Officer Darrell James rushed to the scene and helped deliver the infant.
The mother and child were immediately taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and are doing well.
Important for people to know that helping someone in need is what makes police officers proud. Post baby delivery. pic.twitter.com/a5ose652T3

Delighted mother, Yanjin Li, said: “Thank you to everyone who helped – it was so scary.”
The two quick thinking officers visited the baby in hospital and took him a care package, a Phillies T-shirt and a stuffed SEPTA train, a souvenir from his adventurous ride into life.

The SEPTA chief executive even tweeted to let the world know he had even allowed the baby to travel for free.
For those that have asked, I have waived today's fare for our newest rider. Congratulations!!!
