US sisters, aged 15 and 11, charged with murder of their 16-year-old brother
A 15-year-old girl and her 11-year-old sister have been arrested and charged with the murder of their 16-year-old brother, NBC News reported.
Ariel Kornegay, 15, used her parents’ handgun to shoot her brother in the living room of their Florida home on Monday evening, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said.
Her 11-year-old Nicole Kornegay, “assisted” in the killing, officials said, but did not elaborate on her role.
The boy was said to have been sleeping when he was shot.
Authorities were alerted to the boy’s death by the girls themselves when they told a local police officer.
The older girl said that her brother had beaten her, which is believed to have prompted the shooting.
