A gunman has taken at least five people hostage, including children, in a Jewish supermarket in Paris.
A shoot-out took place around the Hypercasher Vincennes in Porte de Vincennes in the east of the capital.
The gunman has been named as 32-year-old Amedy Coulibaly, who they believe was also responsible for the shooting of the Paris policewoman yesterday and he is reportedly working with a 26-year-old woman called Hayat Boumeddiene.
Coulibaly is reported to have told police “you know who I am” as he opened fire.
Kosher restaurants have been closed across Paris, two subway stops have been closed and schools in the Porte de Vincennes area are on lockdown.
Said and Cherif Kouachi are holed up in an industrial estate with a hostage in a town around 25 miles from Paris following a car chase during which heavy gunfire was reported.
It also emerged today that authorities believe there is a link between the brothers and the suspected perpetrator of a shooting yesterday in the Parisian suburb of Montrouge in which a female police officer was killed.
