A stunning video has been released showing a flock of starlings swirling in the sky in a phenomenon known as murmuration, in the Negev Desert, Israel.
The video, taken at dusk near the Bedouin city of Rahat, southern Israel, shows thousands of the birds flying together, producing a quite incredible display.
Murmurations are seen regularly throughout the autumn and winter months when hundreds of thousands of starlings come together in flying and swooping in unison.
The formations offer the birds safety in numbers while the birds are also believed to do it to keep warm at night and to exchange information, such as good feeding areas.
