The US Geological Survey said the quake hit with a magnitude of 7.4 in an isolated area near the Chinese border between the capital, Kathmandu, and Mount Everest.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube today, shows ceiling lights in a home shaking as residents make their way to safety.
People can also be seen climbing on to rooftops to escape the tremor.
It comes after an earthquake on April 25 killed more than 8,150 people and injured more than 17,860 as it flattened mountain villages and destroyed buildings.
In Kathmandu, the quake sent Nepalese people rushing out of their homes into the streets.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
