Police in Berlin say a man has been killed after his car exploded while he was driving.
City police spokesman Jens Berger told The Associated Press that the explosion occurred early Tuesday in the western district of Charlottenburg.
Berger was unable to immediately provide further details, saying investigators were still examining the scene.
A picture posted by Berlin police on Twitter showed the wreckage of a silver station wagon on the street, its windows blown out and its front end smashed in.
