New so-called Islamic State propaganda has identified the men the group claims were behind the Brussels attacks last month.
The terrorist group’s English language magazine said “all preparations” for the bombings in the Belgian capital – as well as earlier attacks in Paris – had been carried out by Ibrahim and Khalid el-Bakraoui.
Dozens of people would be killed when Ibrahim blew himself up at Brussels Airport, which was followed shortly afterwards by Khalid’s attack on the Metro.
The Dabiq magazine pays tribute to four dead IS members in all, which it claims took part in the attacks in Brussels and Paris.
The author also threatens a number of UK figures, including senior politicians, that it believes are “politically active apostates”.
A French police official, quoted by the Wall Street Journal, cast doubt on the veracity of the magazine’s claims, saying “let’s not forget this is a propaganda tool for Islamic State.”
Security chiefs are thought to believe Salah Abdeslam, who is in custody in Belgium, was the chief organiser of the Paris attacks.
Much of the magazine recounts the attackers’ time in prison, as well as their time battling in civil war stricken Syria.
