A major police operation is underway in Munich after reports of a mass shooting in a shopping centre.
International media outlets have reported that at least one person has died and several people have been injured in the incident at the Olympia centre.
The district of Moosach around the shopping centre have been sealed off.
Helicopters are currently searching the region, and Munich police are advising people to avoid the area.
Earlier this week, five people were stabbed on a train in Bavaria, and German authorities had warned of the danger of future attacks.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed that multiple deaths have taken place following this afternoon’s shooting.
German media outlets have released conflicting reports on the number of casualties, ranging from 10 reported deaths to 15.
Residents have been advised to stay inside their homes, and public transportation has been restricted.
