Lynn and Ray McKay from the Ipswich area of Brisbane were stunned to find a hole full of water appear in their lawn. And they were even more amazed when the hole expanded, and huge chunks of their back yard began to spill into the widening chasm. Mr McKay said: “It was very, very scary. We panicked a bit when it happened.” They have been provided with temporary accommodation by their local council until the problem has been solved.
