Andrew Jack may not have been seen in many films, but his presence was felt through the performances of some of the biggest stars in the world.
The British dialect coach worked on more than 80 motion pictures since beginning his career in the early 1980s.
Featuring as an actor in a number of Star Wars movies and serving as a vocal coach on some of the worlds biggest film franchises, he died after contracting coronavirus at the end of last month at the age of 76.
He portrayed Resistance Major and later General Caluan Ematt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
He also voiced the character of Moloch in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The list of stars that he guided throughout his career features names such as Pierce Brosnan, Cate Blanchett and Robert Downey Jr.
His work led him to serve as a vocal coach on blockbuster movie franchises such as Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings and The Avengers.
His wife and fellow dialect coach Gabrielle Rogers led tributes, saying: “We lost a man today.
“He was in no pain, and he slipped away peacefully knowing that his family were all ‘with’ him.”
Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill also sent out his condolences to the friends and family of Mr Jack over social media.
He said: “I’m so sorry and saddened to hear we have lost Andrew Jack.
“He was such a kind gentleman who was deeply gifted and beloved by all who knew him.”
At the time of his death he had been working on the newest installment DC’s upcoming Batman film with star Robert Pattinson.
His agent Jill McCullough said: “He was still working full-pelt, currently coaching on the new Batman.”
