Clubs should be able to appeal unjust yellow cards in the same way as they can reds.
Rangers complaints against Daniel Candeias’s second booking at St Mirren has put the spotlight on this issue.
The footage which has circulated appears to show Anton Ferdinand grab the Gers man. However, the Ibrox side’s only recourse against Willie Collum’s ruling was to appeal on the grounds of mistaken identity.
In these situations, it would also help if referees or the Scottish FA quickly and clearly explained why the initial decision was taken.
