Willie Miller: Cove Rangers can follow in Ross County’s footsteps
ByWillie Miller
Cove Rangers are in a great position to secure promotion to League Two having drawn 0-0 with Cowdenbeath in the first leg of the play-off final.
Cove will have a new stadium ready for the upcoming campaign.
Hopefully, they can look forward to that stadium being used in the SPFL.
Cove are an ambitious club but you need ambition in football.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle came in from the Highland League and went on to win the Scottish Cup and play in the Premiership over a number of seasons.
I am old enough to remember listening to the chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle when they were just coming out of the Highland League having amalgamated.
He suggested they could go on to play in the top flight and I had a wee laugh to myself.
Well I was wrong and he was right.
Ross County also worked their way up from the Highland League to the Premiership and won the League Cup.
If manager John Sheran, pictured, can take his side up it would be great for the club and the city.
If they can get themselves on to that first rung of League Two you just never know what can happen if you have the right people with the right vision and ambition.
